Meet Jack Olesker, iconic screenwriter

24/7 Productions, LLC’s President and CEO Jack Olesker has a career that spans over four decades and includes writing, directing and producing over 1,200 episodes of television, eighteen films and seven published novels.
His writing career was launched when

G. P. Putnam’s Sons published his first novel, NO PLACE LIKE HOME.  The novel went on to be a best seller.  Prior to publication, MGM purchased the novel’s film rights. Olesker subsequently moved to Los Angeles to enter the film industry.
In 1980, Olesker sold his first screenplay, based upon his romance/horror novel, BEYOND FOREVER, to Yale Wexler Productions.  In 1982 he began his career in television, writing for the series THE LITTLES for DIC Entertainment.  This led to a staff writing position at DIC.

In ensuing years he became DIC’s Senior Story Editor, writing,creating and story-editing such popular television series as THE NEW ADVENTURES OF HE-MAN, CARE BEARS, M.A.S.K., THE SUPER MARIO BROS. SUPER SHOW, HEATHCLIFF AND THE CATILLAC CATS, HEROES ON HOT WHEELS and many others.  In 1990 he Co-created SABAN Entertainment’s internationally successful MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS.

Olesker’s feature film screenplay, NINJA KNIGHTS: WHEN WARRIOR WORLDS COLLIDE, was purchased outright by India-based KEN Creative Studios.  Olesker subsequently rose to become president of KEN Creative Studios. 
As a documentary filmmaker, Olesker has served as Executive Producer, Producer, Director and on-camera host for numerous documentaries.  He was Associate Producer for the powerful PBS documentary THE POWER OF 100, based upon the 100 Black Men of America mentoring organization. Olesker was the Creator, Executive Producer, Director, Writer and co-host of PBS lifestyle series pilot SIT & KNIT, WITH KIM, JACK & BIRD. He wrote, produced, directed and was Executive Director of the PBS documentary AT THE ZOO, WITH MAX AND MCKENZIE. Olesker wrote, produced and directed CAMPUS for PBS. He also served as Executive Producer for the
documentary JUNKANOO! and EMPOWERMENT: THE AMAZING GRACE, filmed entirely in Nassau, The Bahamas.

Today Jack Olesker actively continues his work in motion pictures and television, developing and creating mass market entertainment content in the mystery, suspense, drama and comedy genres.
